How We Help Youth
Harmony IN Horses has several programs that help youth who have experienced trauma. Our programs provide the inherent wisdom of the horse-human bond to create a safe and supportive environment where youth can explore, learn, and grow.
Equine Assisted LearningEquine Assisted Learning comprises a series of ground-based activities – no horseback riding is involved – that involves partnering with horses to learn transferable life skills such as self-esteem, empathy, emotional regulation, relationship building, teamwork, communication, and leadership.

Stable Moments®It is an internationally certified, trauma responsive, equine-
assisted learning program that provides these youth with crucial life skills to facilitate healthy transitions into adulthood. Stable Moments® is ten months of weekly unmounted horse programming and one-on-one mentorship. During this period, enduring and healthy relationships are cultivated between the horse, mentor and child. These relationships serve as the bedrock upon which healing from trauma and essential life skills are built, developing confidence and resilience. Within this nurturing environment, youth gain invaluable tools such as decision-making skills, executive functioning capabilities, and self-regulation – all of which are pivotal for their future success. |
Horse PowHERComing Soon!
Horse PowHER embraces the transformative power of Equine- Assisted Learning (EAL) to nurture resilience and well-being among adolescent girls aged 13 to 18. The program is a small group (8-10 girls) for 2-hour sessions weekly for 10 weeks and is supported by 1-month, 6-month, and 12-month wellness check-in sessions. Transportation is provided for residents of Marion, Boone, Hamilton and Clinton counties. We are currently working to secure grants, donations and partnerships, so this program can be at no costs for the girls! |
