Packing Hope is here to provide essential support for foster and adoptive families. We offer:

• Welcome Bags: For children entering foster care, packed with comfort items and essentials.
  
• Birthday Bags: To help celebrate your child's special day, complete with a cake mix or icing.
  
• Meal Support: Available during times of transition or crisis.

We’re excited to continue our communication series with Part 2 this month! Join us as we learn together how to best keep our children's information private.

• Who are the right people to share with?

Freezer Meal Recipe:

Book Recommendation: ​"Maybe Days"

​I want to recommend "Maybe Days," a book that can help children in foster care process their feelings. It addresses the questions and uncertainties they may have about their situation, making it a great tool for opening up discussions.

Not only does it support kids in expressing their emotions, but it also helps you as a foster parent understand and develop compassion for what they are experiencing. It’s a valuable resource for both children and parents navigating this journey together.

​Highlighting a Local Resource

​Harmony IN Horses, in Sheridan, Boone County,  is transforming the lives of youth impacted by foster care and adoption through the healing connection with horses. In the Stable Moments® weekly mentorship program, children engage in hands-on activities that help them develop essential life skills and build trust. Through equine-assisted learning, participants experience the unique bond between humans and horses, which helps them process trauma, develop emotional resilience, and find inner strength. The Horse PowHER program offers teen girls a safe space to connect, share experiences, and grow in confidence. Each program fosters hope, healing, and the opportunity for a brighter future.
